After finishing his rookie season in the MotoAmerica National Series Gauge came home to catch the last USBA race at his home track. It was an excellent opportunity to test the new 180 Dunlop slick and have some fun racing with friends.
Race 1 on Saturday found him gridded in 19th position due to not having any points in the Series. After a strong start put him in 4th place by Turn 1 Gauge put his head down and went to work. He brought home the win with a 9 second lead. Race 2 would be a repeat of Race 1 with Rees bringing it home with a 19 second lead. He finished the weekend with 2 wins and 2 second place finishes, 3 of them from the back of the grid.
“I had a great time this weekend. no pressure, just racing with my friends and having fun. The new Dunlop is amazing and I cant thank Scott Larsen and Cori Maynard from Dunlop enough for the support for this race. Starting from the back of the grid and working through traffic was a lot of fun and bringing home a few wins was a great way to end the season. I wouldnt be here without all of the support from Rickdiculous Racing, my family and sponsors like Shoei Helmets, Venhill brake lines, Champion Spark Plugs, Heatshrink.com and everyone else who has supported me over the years.” said Rees.
